Setting the Standards for Life Learning
A non-profit organization providing band programs to private and parochial schools and home-schooled students
We encourage you to enroll your child or keep your child in Band this year, even with the current pandemic. Students who take a year off from band rarely come back to band.
With the current reduction in extra-curricular activities available to students, playing a musical instrument is something they can still do!
Learning to play a musical instrument and playing music builds creativity, self-expression, self-confidence, and a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment.
Music allows us to communicate and feel when there are no words to express ourselves and our emotions.
Learning to play an instrument is cumulative, and the skills learned build on one another. Taking a year off from band greatly impacts the student's progress and learning cycle.
Continuing with lessons now will allow your child to be better prepared for when we can hold lessons, group band and concerts in person again.
News and Updates
Band & covid-19
As of August 10, 2020, all of the schools at which we have band programs are planning on starting the 2020-21 school year in-person. Due to each of the individual school's plans for re-opening during the Covid-19 pandemic, some are able to accommodate having band in-person while others are only able to offer band as an online/virtual program.
In-person lessons: Our teachers will follow current Covid-19 guidelines and protocol of the school, as well as guidelines and protocol established by Overture Band Programs, based on CDC, DHS and DPI guidelines, and recommendations based on results from research studies regarding playing a band instrument safely during Covid-19 times. Click here to see an abbreviated list of the safety measures and protocol our band teachers will be following.
Online/Virtual lessons: Students will receive weekly video band lessons using Zoom or Google Meet. Lessons will be scheduled for when students are not in school (before school, after school, evenings and/or weekends).
Band Registration 2020-21
Band registration materials will be emailed in mid-August to families who had students in band last year. Registrations are due September 1st.
Families of 4th grade students and new beginners will receive information about band from their school's band director during the first two weeks of school.
New band students will have until September 21st to get registered.
We are not set up to take registrations or payments on-line. You must send your registration form and payment by mail to our address listed on the registration form.
